Sleepy Lam is consider by most as one of the top 3D pilots in Hong Kong. His nickname "Sleepy" derived not simply from the fact that he always wear sleepy eyes, but from the fact that he could fly his helicopter inverted while dozing himself out. Sleepy is a very humorous guy, and he likes to invent new moves which would bring laughter and wows to fellow pilots.

Sleepy practicing hovering |
¡@ |
Sleepy's flying skills are considered crazy but safe, just like his personal character. Rumor has it that Sleepy could not hover his helicopter still with the right side up, but most of the time when I saw Sleepy crash his machine it was always the right side up, not inverted. Some even teased Sleepy that he should mount the landing gear on top of his helicopters' rotor so that he could take of and land inverted, to minimize the chance of crashing...

Shuttle just exit a loop, with Elvis passed by |
Here comes Shuttle chewing up Elvis' ass! |
On one sunny day, Sleepy and Jason were doing dogfighting with their Raptor 30 and Shuttle CCPM. Sleepy's Raptor has a nickname called "Elvis", due to the fact that it shake like hell. As usual, Elvis was flying inverted all along, while trying desperately to catch up with Jason's Shuttle. Jason's machine was so fast that he could humiliate Sleepy with looping and rolling his Shuttle in order for Sleepy's Elvis to catch up. Mickey, a fellow pilot, took pictures of the whole chase.

Sleepy and Elvis |
Poor Elvis, another defeat! |
Later, with enough damage done, Jason landed his Shuttle for refuel. Sleepy, bored of the defeat, flew his Raptor around in solo and asked photographer Mickey to take some picture of him inverting his "Elvis".
With Sleepy's creative mind, he asked Mickey to try to take a photo that looked like his Elvis is being pinned to his antenna inverted. The above is the best Mickey could take.

Shuttle hovering near Elvis |
What a shot! |
With Sleepy's wicked mine started, he thought of a picture that his Elvis hover inverted with another helicopter hovered below. He quickly yelled for Jason to fire up his machine, and Sleepy's wish came true when Jason's Shuttle took to the sky.
With the photos taken, Sleepy is ever happy, and continues to flip and roll his Elvis, while Jason retrieved his Shuttle after satisfying Sleepy's crazy ordeal.
One day, Sleepy was in the field with his Hirobo Cobra, the only scale helicopter in his fleet. Here, Sleepy was challenged by fellow friends to do some 3D flying with his Tow Cobra. Sleepy, took that challenge, and wowed everyone at the field!
This is Sleepy, hovering his Cobra to get warmed up.
This is Sleepy's Cobra, ready for take off.
What happened with the Cobra? Is it on fire or what?
Getting airbourne, the Cobra is going in mission to take up some 3D routines.
For the flight, Sleepy did loops and rolls with the Cobra, that was pleasing to the eyes. Sadly, my camera cannot catch a glimpse of it while it is doing 3D. The last photo showed the cockpit of Sleepy's Cobra, where you can see the two pilot figures was removed by G-force from their original glued position and huddled together by the window. Sure those 3D stuffs scared these pilots to death..
Sleepy's Hirobo Cobra was known as the "Perfect Cobra" locally. It borne with one scale contest that Sleepy participated with previous World Champion Mr. Dobashi Yukihiro acting as judge for the event. At that event, Sleepy did his 3D crazy moves with a 60 class Hirobo Cobra, Mr. Dobashi gave him a perfect score. Yes! 3D with a heavy and big scale machine! Sleepy tumble and flip his Cobra like his own hands, and according to Mr. Dobashi the reason why he gave Sleepy perfect score was that not once in his life ever saw somebody 3D a scale machine like Sleepy did.
