Me and my team members arrived at the first airfield at around 6:00am this morning to prepare for radio impound.  The weather was fine today with just mild breeze.  Today, almost all pilots had better score compared to yesterday.  Below were the top 13 results on normalized score, dropping the lowest score:

According to the rules, the top 20% of the participants in the competition would enter final round.  For this year, there was a total of 65 participants, so only 13 competitors would enter the final.

Of interest was to watch how Hashimoto fight to stay competitive.  Hashimoto did marvelous job today, made an almost perfect flight that put him amongst the top 10 pilot, but he was not good enough because both Curtis Youngblood and Yukihiro Dobashi did even better in group A.  In group B, Johann Hoenle made a perfect flight enabling him to recover from the low score he made yesterday.

Its going to be another long day tomorrow.

Katsuyuki Sensui competed this year with JR Superio Katsuyuki Special 2001.  He used the newest Galaxy full fuselage, and equipped with retracts.  As usual his helicopters were equipped with parts that were not available to the public ever.  Sensui's performance was marvelous as usual.
